Hmong Celebrates International New Year in Fresno

Fresno, CA -- Once again, the Hmong people will begin their annual new year celebration in the City of Fresno at the Big Fresno Fairgrounds starting December 26, 2010 thru January 1, 2011. Hosted by Hmong International New Year, Inc., this will be the fourteenth year that the celebration has taken place in Fresno, California.

The grand opening of the Celebration will begin on December 26, 2010. It is then that tens of thousands of people from all over the world will come together to the Fairgrounds and partake in the "Pov Pob" game. "Pov Pob" is an "ice breaker" game for eligible bachelors and bachelorettes to meet one another. There will also be entertainments such as talent shows, pageantry, dance contests, and a singing competitions for all to enjoy. In addition, vendors will come from all over the country and from abroad to sell arts, crafts and ethnic foods.

The Celebration is a family event and is open to all persons of any age. General admission to the event will be $3 per person and children under 6 going in free with accompanying adults.
